::: QUALITY MANAGEMENT :::
A. THE QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS)
The Quality Management System (QMS) ensures planned and systematic actions
necessary to provide the adequate confidence that the product of an
organization can satisfy stated and implied requirements. It is a
system that guarantees, among so many other things, high
quality standards in product and service delivery. An organization with a
properly designed QMS based on the ISO 9001:2000 International Standard
and other relevant regulatory standards would definitely have standard high quality
output.
With an installed QMS,
- Instructions and processes are clearly defined.
- Scarce resources are consequently efficiently utilized.
- The quality of product(s) and/or service(s) would be demonstrably guaranteed, increasing customer confidence.
- The corporate image of the organization would thus be enhanced, resulting in increased patronage of product(s) and/or service(s) locally and internationally.
The
QMS is designed based on the requirements of the internationally
recognized and accepted Quality Standard known as ISO 9001:2000. This
standard addresses:
- Documentation requirements in a QMS
- Management responsibility
- Resource management
- Product realization processes
